You’ve finished your roll forming seminar. You know why tooling performance relies on mill integrity. You get why proper set up and alignment is important. And, you know you need a solid maintenance program.
What’s next? Take responsibility and take action.
It takes a team effort
Everyone plays a part when it comes to mill performance. Everyone needs to participate. Everyone is accountable. That’s why it’s important to share what you learned in our seminar.

Follow these next steps to keep moving in the right direction:
1. Schedule a meeting
Invite operators, supervisors, engineers and anyone else responsible for mill performance. Walk them through everything you learned and what action steps need to be taken.
2. Create a plan
Together, order your action steps and assign responsibilities across the team. Create a timeline to stay on track and make sure that it’s available to everyone.
3. Develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
Cover all of the important areas, including tooling setup, mill operations and planned maintenance. Share SOPs with the entire team so everyone knows what’s expected. If you need help with this step, contact us. Roll-Kraft has helped many companies develop their SOPs.
4. Regular check ups
Have regular reviews to find and correct any mill operations issues. Make sure to offer training on SOPs to current employees and anyone new joining your team.
Responsibility + Action = Better Results
When everyone follows SOPs and takes responsibility, you increase efficiency, reduce down time and scrap. And you make higher quality products for your customers.
