Roll-Kraft Receives Telly Award

September, 2013 - MENTOR, OH
telly award 300pxRoll-Kraft is pleased to announce it has been awarded a 2013 Telly Award (http://www.tellyawards.com).   The Telly Awards, now in their 34th year, honor the very best film and video productions and groundbreaking online video content.  The award, in the Online Video category, was presented to Chuck Gehrisch, Roll-Kraft president, for the company’s recent video regarding the floating flange roll produced by the company.
Roll-Kraft has been manufacturing roll tooling for the tube & pipe and roll forming industries for over 50 years.  During that time, the company has addressed many issues that have plagued the industry.  One of those issues is the natural discrepancy that occurs during manufacturing, between the surface speed of the roll at its smallest diameter (the drive point), compared to the surface speed at the largest diameter of the roll.  This variation quite often causes marking to appear on the final product.  The use of floating flange rolls helps prevent this age-old problem.  The process is explained in detail in the video, which appears on the Roll-Kraft YouTube channel.

The floating flange video is just one of the Roll-Kraft online training videos that are available to the tube & pipe and roll forming industry.
Roll-Kraft has its headquarters in Mentor, Ohio, and maintains other facilities in Frankfort, Illinois (Roll-Kraft Northern), and Ontario, Canada (Roll-Kraft Ltd.).  The company phone number is (888) 953-9400 or (440) 205-3100, and the fax number is (440) 205-3110.  Please also visit the website at www.roll-kraft.com.   For easy and immediate contact with Roll-Kraft that transcends time zones and working hours, the website features Dr. Resolve.  Simply complete and submit an on-line form and Roll-Kraft will respond.

Roll-Kraft Releases New Video Highlighting Importance of Tube & Pipe and Roll Forming Mill Maintenan

June 2013 - MENTOR, OH.
Roll-Kraft has released its latest video, “The Importance of a Properly Maintained PM Program,” which gives valuable cost-saving information for tube & pipe and roll forming companies.  Preventative maintenance is absolutely essential to avoiding a costly emergency repair crisis.
Due to demanding production schedules, there seems to always be a shortage of time to do all of the proper preventative maintenance.  Often the best-laid plans go by the wayside, due to time constraints and manufacturing demands.  This video highlights two primary areas that are helpful in creating an on-going maintenance program.
1.    How to establish a preventative maintenance program.
2.    How to properly maintain the program.

History has shown that companies and individuals who are successful are the ones who outline and document their goals and plans.  Documenting the plan helps to create the discipline needed for implementation.   The information in the new video provides guidance toward designing and creating an effective program to reduce down time and gain maximum production.

Roll-Kraft Participates in RoboBot Competition

MENTOR, OH, June, 2013
Roll-Kraft has once again teamed up with the local Chamber of Commerce and AWT (Alliance for Working Together) to sponsor the annual RoboBot competition.  This event gives students from local schools the opportunity to work with manufacturing companies to design and manufacture a working robot which then competes in multiple crash-and-bang one-on-one contests.  Between rounds, the students pull together to be sure their robot is in good working condition and ready for the next contest.  Eventually, competitors are eliminated and one winner survives.

Roll-Kraft Celebrates 50th Anniversary in Tube and Pipe and Roll Forming Industry

MENTOR, OH, April, 2013 - Roll-Kraft is pleased to commemorate its 50-year anniversary of designing and manufacturing tooling for the tube & pipe and roll forming industry.   Founded in 1963 by George F. Gehrisch, the company’s goal has always been to be the most reliable supplier of custom-designed roll tooling to every producer who uses welded tube or pipe products or roll forms open shapes.
The modest original facility in Willoughby, OH, with its minimal staff, has been replaced by a 110,000 sq. ft. factory in Mentor, OH., and two additional plants, including one based in Canada, with more than 100 employees.  The company now operates daily with a total of 50 CNC (computer numerical control) machines, including multiple large-capacity machines.  The U.S. headquarters factory produces roll tooling up to 40” in diameter, while the Canadian plant produces tooling up to 52” diameter - quite a sharp contrast to the customer requirements during the early years.
In 2001, Roll-Kraft became certified by the International Organization for Standardization. The original certification was earned in 1997, and through annual audits, the company has maintained certification every year since then.
Roll-Kraft tooling is known worldwide and is used in 50 countries around the globe.    The company has a fully staffed engineering department with expertise in designing tooling to manufacture a myriad of products, from furniture, curtain rods, and steel doors, to highway road signs, and even tooling used in the mining and energy sector.
Over the years, the company has added regional and on-site seminars to offer opportunities for companies in the industry to provide tube & pipe and roll forming training to their personnel.  These efforts were acknowledged by the Tube & Pipe Association’s Industry Education Activities Award in 2003, which was awarded to Roll-Kraft’s Robert Sladky for his more than 30 years of training services.
Roll-Kraft is happy to celebrate this benchmark in its history and looks forward to many more years of serving the tube & pipe and roll form industry.
